Vera Wang and Jakarta

Oh Ana Tracey and John! I posted about them a while back but its not till now 2016 that I got approval to share their wedding video with you all. I am still swooning over the Vera Wang dress and Jimmy Choo Shoes that Ana Tracey wore and how in love the handsome John was on their wedding day. He had flown all the way from Jakarta for this wedding. IT was intimate, perfect and simple but gorgeous. I can’t wait to work with Penzi again! Guadalupe had pulled me aside to show me the Alfanique sheep she had placed on the sweets table, (Alfanique is a day of the dead sugar candy usually used in November but can be used in any occasion, they where sheep on her sweets table because she was from New Zeland! cute cute!) Check out their wedding love story below:

A big step for our little company!

We shot Melisa & Duncan about 6 months ago in Casa Carino and just had a blast! I was enchanted by Melisa’s beauty but as I heard more from the friends and family speeches she is also the nicest person in the world. And those two I tell ya’ so in love!

Favorite Screen Shots

Today, here at the Barros Studio, I was on a roll. I finished our double booked weddings and I can’t wait to upload them! (just waiting for them to render)

Editing I believe is probably the most time consuming part of our job, but we take it seriously! From the hours worth footage, we take our best shots, the highlight moments, the special seconds where we capture your wedding and edit it in less than 5 mins. Sometimes less.

I time epic moments to music that sets the ‘mood’ of the action. I hope that I bring our brides and their families to tears. I spend a lot of my time crying myself and ‘ooh and aaaah-ing’ to myself in my editing suite. Here are two of my favorite screen shots of the two weddings:

Megan and her loved ones:Screen Shot 2015-12-01 at 12.48.10 PMScreen Shot 2015-11-25 at 1.35.12 PM(above) Ana Tracey with her good friend Fernando who also was her makeup artist.

Sometimes, I find the moments where the brides are just beaming just as speacial as the moments with their now husband just as priceless. They are so happy to share their special time with their friends, their siblings,  or parents. The joy of how happy you are just rubs off on people, and since Nick and I are married I know what it feels like to just smile, glow and wear that dress that makes you feel like the  most beautiful woman in the world who is about to marry the man of her dreams.

Stay tuned for the finished product!

Mexican Lovely – Sneak Peek Megan & Perry

We are big fans of Micheal Amici’s photography, so when I heard we where going to be able to work with him on this wedding I was excited. I did not get to go on this wedding venture since we where double booked so I covered Ana Tracey & Johns wedding and Nick covered Megan & Perry’s wedding. Still for Barros Weddings to work with local photographers its just oh so fun!

12231119_10208048178945380_1807897759_n 12231133_10208048172665223_2052226911_nIts started out with a beautiful rehearsal dinner and that sunset! Set at Casa Cece which is just as stunning as the adjacent house Casa Cariño. They had long but heart melting toasts from friends and family, I don’t even know Megan and Perry and I wanted to be part of their friend group! that is how amazing the stories and their adventures with their friends and family sounded! So much love is so awesome to witness and capture! Their lovely rehearsal dinner was planned and set up by Penzi Weddings.

Saturday came about with a bright and sunny day and Nick grabbed some behind the scenes of Megan and her bridesmaids getting ready, in their adorable Mexican dresses! I mean how cute is this idea (why didn’t I think of this?!) 12207879_10208048178185361_1502721924_n

The decor is so artistic and filled with antic pieces filled with stories I feel like. From what Ive gathered of shooting weddings there, it was actually 4 different houses that became one big large house (which explains why it feels endless maze:) The views in this house are just stunning their gardens are somewhat secret but welcoming. Followed by a church ceremony they had a callejoneada:

And here are some sneak peek pics of their wedding! (that dress!) 12208012_10208048174465268_1353436875_n12212063_10208048175625297_453029453_n

From Jakarta to New York married in San Miguel

Ana Tracey & John by Penzi Weddings!

Nick and I where double booked last weekend, so we split up which made me miss him but also was so much fun taking a wedding all to myself! I met up with Penzi in Jardin on a sunny afternoon on Friday.

12242068_10156390330505354_634096530_nI must say the sun was setting to perfection. Giving me this lovely angelic light that flooded their Callejoneada as guests arrived the sun set further for the day.

12270449_10156390329325354_2143813479_nOn some occasions Nick and I are able to meet the bride and groom previous to their big day, sometimes via Skype, if we are lucky in person. This time I was unable to meet Ana Tracey and John before hand so watching them interact as they danced with each other during this festive moment was just a joy! Ana Tracey walked down to the group of friends in family by herself with a big red parasol with matching red lip stick and a gorgeous summer dress. Everyone oohh and ahhed as she joined the parade.

12231132_10156390330400354_331178915_nI wish I had more pics but I don’t want to spoil the video! Stay tuned to see more!

Ana Tracey and Johns wedding has been the most relaxed, easy, wedding Ive gotten to shoot, so far. I was substantially early and Ana Tracey greeted me in her PJ’s cool as a clam. I got to know her family and friends while I waited for the action to start, it was fantastic to get so much time to shoot some B-roll of the set up and (such a girly thing to say) her shoes!

12272624_10156390329435354_200985248_nAna Tracey pulled out her wedding shoes and I just gasped, Jimmy Choo’s in  perfect champagne pink! Just to die for! As I grabbed footage of Ana Tracey getting glammed up, I also got to know her as we chatted, learning more about her home town in New Zealand, and how she now lives in NYC. She was just lovely and calm as the day went on and I got to see her Make up artist work his magic. My second shooter said the same of John who got ready in 1810 Hotel in centro.

Casa Sonjowasi was the choice for this couple, beautiful gardens and house just off Parque Juearez, perfect venue to have everything in one location.  Ana Tracey was a model and she was poised as one, she was just gorgeous, the minute she pulled out her dress and got into it I was mesmerized, I mean Vera Wang wedding Dress on her was just stunning! 12243998_10156390317065354_290143504_n12231485_10156379033200354_1794329612_n

Charley Smith her photographer arrived and we were able to squeeze a mini session with the bride: 12231141_10156390310795354_310785182_n

Their wedding ceremony was in the lower garden and was sweet and short, small  intimate with the sun setting next to them. Swoon.

Along with Charley Smith we hiked up the hill to a sweet little church to catch the sunset. Here are some candid shots of before:12226513_10156379034710354_818566613_nGuadalupe with Ana Tracey

I even got some candid shots of them running up and down the streets which also looked whimsical and lovely, especially with Ana Tracey’s red wedges:

We then went back to the venue to enjoy the reception, here are some of the design elements by Penzi:

Gorgeous sweets table with a gluten free cake from Via Organica.

Her table settings where simple but oh so romantic, labeled with her favorite places (or places she calls home is what I gathered), Jakarta where her husband lives, San Miguel de Allende, and NYC and more!

Gorgeous overhanging rose set above every table (below) details from the cutest sweets table: 12243813_10156390324110354_1003870988_n12270208_10156390322985354_1631633790_n12272726_10156390324240354_231300428_n

I can’t wait to share the final video! Stay tuned for her wedding highlight reel!

Ana Tracey & John

California Wedding!

A delayed post I know, I know, during the end of the summer we flew up to California and where honored to shoot Jen & Brian. Jen and Brian hired us to shoot their garden wedding in High Sierra Iris & Wedding Gardens in Sacramento, California.

12088597_10206234655483644_2157477619182462205_n 12144922_10206234661523795_1792650115625246136_nBrian & Jen had a lovely engagement photo shoot with Mackenzie Roberts who also was their wedding photographer. Just stunning work!

As per usual I took some behind the scenes pics of Barros Weddings in action and what I see that is just to lovely not to share. How perfect did her shoes go with invitation, dress and even little mirror?!

At a lovely B&B Jen got ready with her daughters and her Maid of Honor. So much joy and excitement it truely was so lovely to witness such a small intimate wedding party. 12208482_10156346398645354_2663971302281417555_n12193358_10156346398095354_6494443577711664498_n Once we arrived at the venue it was so lovely, the air was hot but the breeze that swept in was just perfect weather. The sun was shinning and the decor was simple, a touch of country with garden touches, whimsical and gorgeous, creative and went with its surroundings.

12108829_10156346394090354_4724590291264632650_n1897788_10156346393525354_8475520276241141594_nTheir wedding was oh so elegant but also gave a sense of country comfort. I gotta say the light that was showering into the wedding was breathtaking.

We are where honored to be part of such a lovely intimate wedding! Check out their wedding video:
